The Second Annual Altenheim Day at EdenHill was a huge success, with over 100 residents and community members enjoying the historic re-enactment of the in-gathering of goods for area seniors.
German Hill Country residents had a tradition each fall of sharing from their harvest with seniors and people in need, and the annual Altenheim event celebrates that rich tradition of giving. A horse and wagon in full regalia flanked by an antique car and Fred Fey in his Model A calliope formed a procession through Landa Park and up the hill to our community, where there was a reception, honors bestowed, and a keynote speech from Alice Jewel, CEO of the McKenna Foundation.
Special thanks to all who helped make it happen and for all of our residents and community partners who took part. Mark your calendar and join us at next year’s event!
