The Alzheimer’s Symposium: Sharing Knowledge and Support
One of our proudest accomplishments is our annual Alzheimer’s Symposium, which we have been organizing and offering as a free event to the New Braunfels community for the past four years. Our goal has always been to provide high-quality information, resources, and support to as many participants as possible. The Symposium, led by our Director of Marketing and Symposium Chairperson, Terry Jackson, brings together experts in the field of Memory Care, including psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, nurses, and other professionals who specialize in caring for individuals with Alzheimer’s and other dementing illnesses.
A Holistic Approach to Care and Support
The Alzheimer’s Symposium is not just a series of informative presentations. We understand that caring for individuals with Alzheimer’s requires a comprehensive approach that addresses not only the medical aspects but also the practical and emotional dimensions of caregiving. That’s why our Symposium goes beyond presentations and offers a range of valuable community resources. Attendees have access to financial and legal planners, in-home medical care providers, support groups, and hands-on therapy activities. We believe in empowering caregivers with the tools, knowledge, and support they need to navigate the challenges they face every day.
Recognizing Social Accountability and Community Impact
Receiving the Excellence in Community Service award from LeadingAge Texas is an incredible honor. It recognizes our dedication to social accountability and our commitment to meeting the needs of our community. This award would not have been possible without the hard work and dedication of our volunteers, leadership team, and staff members who go above and beyond to make a positive impact in the lives of aging adults and their families. We are immensely grateful for their contributions and for the generous support of our sponsors, which allows us to provide the Alzheimer’s Symposium free of charge, including meals and on-site caregiving for attendees’ loved ones with dementia.
Looking Ahead: Fifth Annual Alzheimer’s Symposium
We are excited to announce that plans are already underway for our fifth annual Alzheimer’s Symposium, which will take place on October 5th. This event will mark another milestone in our commitment to serving our community and providing valuable resources and support to seniors and their families. As we continue to grow and evolve, we remain dedicated to reaching beyond the walls of our campus and meeting the evolving needs of aging adults in the greater New Braunfels community.
