Here’s a Resource that Makes a Difference!
There are so many challenges on the dementia journey. Not just for the person with dementia but also for the caregiver. Our Place Memory Café is one resource offered by EdenHill that really makes a difference. According to Norman (the gentleman above and in the attached video), each day is different when you are the caregiver for someone with dementia. He admits to being ‘time poor’. Listen as he tells his story (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ykl_M2Qc7Tg )– the benefits of Our Place include seeing his wife smile, having a rare conversation with her, and learning about other resources and tools.
Our Place Memory Café is offered at three different locations once a month. The locations are St. Paul Lutheran’s Multi-purpose Chapel, Canyon Lake First Baptist’s Fellowship Hall, and TownHall at EdenHill. You may contact Iris Bowden, Our Place Memory Café Coordinator, by emailing her at firstname.lastname@example.org or calling her direct line: 830-500-2437.
This event is designed for both the caregiver and person with dementia to attend together. Learn how to avoid frustrations, laugh and play together again, and even see a smile or two every day!
In addition to our Memory Café, EdenHill is presenting an Alzheimer’s Symposium on Tuesday, October 22, 2019 at the McKenna Events Center in New Braunfels, Texas. The event is free and open to the public. We have a phenomenal team of presenters as well as numerous vendors from the community offering valuable insights and supports for family members and caregivers.
EdenHill is your partner through the dementia journey.
