Meet Lydia

Meet Lydia Lewis, Activities Professional Extraordinaire!

Lydia Lewis can be found in our Healthcare neighborhoods, providing high quality activities, exciting outings, laughter, and pet therapy to our residents. Who is this woman behind the paint brush craft glue gun?

Lydia shared that when she was in her thirties, she began working in an arts and crafts store and eventually worked her way from a designer into management. Although she enjoyed the parts of the job that enabled her to express herself artistically, she quickly realized the sense of meaning and fulfillment she needed was missing.

Fortunately, about that same time, while she was browsing through books at her local bookstore, she came across a book about Activity Directing. Lydia states, “I knew instantly that this was the job for me!” She completed the required courses, earned the activity director certification, and has worked in this field ever since.

Life at EHC

Lydia sees EdenHill as her home away from home. She enjoys interacting with the residents and hopes “my creative skills and ability to make crafts, both with and for them, brightens their days as much as it does mine”.

“Being able to add meaning and joy to their lives gives me great joy in return”, adds Lydia. And “when you work with nurses and caregivers you are surrounded by the most nurturing people there are.”

We couldn’t agree more, Lydia! EdenHill has a phenomenal team of caring, talented nurses and aides. Having you work alongside them enhances the great quality of care our residents receive.

Other Interests

Lydia is the proud mother of two and the grandmother of six. She enjoys hiking on nature trails with her dog when she’s not at work. After the walks, she often sits and reflects on the beauty she has seen and then try to recapture it by painting it on canvas.

Keep staying creative, Lydia! We love all you bring to us at EdenHill.
